A work colleague pointed me to this:

Matty Sallin and friends over at mathlete.com have created the ultimate in alarm clocks.

We hacked the clock so that the signal is re-routed by a microchip that in responds by sending a signal to a relay that throws the switch to power two halogen lamps that slow-cook the bacon in about 10 minutes.

I’ve been wondering to myself when I’d actually find All the bacon on the internet. Maybe I’ve already bookmarked everything there is ready to slowly publish on this here homage? But maybe there is more.

So I decided to do some Google searching to see if I could come up with anything. Of course, the answer I found from Google was: there’s no way I’ll ever find the end of all the bacon.

Take, for example, The Anti Craft’s amazing Baconhenge, complete with recipes and instructions!

Liquid Smoke

Every time I hear of this product, it just makes me shudder. But at the same time, inquisitive. A recipe I used a couple of months back called for Smoked Paprika powder and it added a great taste. Maybe this stuff really does have some merit — it’s just the name that makes me squirm.

So how does this fit into All the Bacon, All the Time? Well, if you watched the “How it’s Made” video from a couple of days back, they use this bizarre product to make bacon. Surely most bacon really is smoked? Surely? Please?

The product show to the left is from an Australian company who assure me that this product is common in the USA and Europe. But then I looked closer at the photo .. it’s in an aerosol! Someone please explain why you’d want liquid smoke .. in an aerosol? Is this some kind of blokey air-freshner? Mmmmm bacon.

Diet Coke with Bacon

The Schlicken Empire brings us news of Bacon Diet Coke. This is a fake, so let’s tag that with ‘fakon’, and the idea is one of the few bacon mashups I’ve seen that have made me feel we may have gone too far. But then again, should Coke ever decide to bring out a Bacon Diet Coke, I will be giving it a try.

Bacon Bandaids from McPhee

Archie McPhee (Serving up bacon for twenty-five years”) has some fantastic Bacon Band-aids for those little ‘oopsies’ and indeed has a whole department devoted to the King of Cured meats that includes Bacon Floss, Bacon Mints and a Bacon Air Freshener

This video is from the TV Show “How it’s made”. The bacon they show here is not what we in Australia think of as bacon. It’s a bizarre cooked concoction made with our favorite product: Liquid Smoke.

Bacon choc-chip cookies

“Muffin” over at Never Bashful with Butter has created a recipie for Bacon with Chocolate Chip Cookies and includes gems such as “cinnamon maple glaze … bridges the gap between pork and cookie”.

Though the quote of the recipie has to be:

Bacon is the king of cured meats. It has a taste that puts it so far out there it’s almost its own food group. This site is a homage.
